This weeks tip is an album I bought without ever having heard a song of Wesley Joseph, purely based on a raving review in the dutch music magazine Oor. It referenced Frank Ocean and Blood Orange, which was sufficient to give it a try. And it doesn’t disappoint.
Since I opened it yesterday, I played it 6 or 7 times back to front, and there is a lot to discover. The music is varied, sometimes complex, and has a lot of layers. The guest appearance of Jorja Smith is personal highlight. And I love the cover art, probably because it has a hint of purple in it. Or is it the butterfly?
If you also want to discover something fresh and new, give it a shot.
