Like last week, this weeks tip is another thing I feel I discovered myself. This is Lorelei is the moniker under which Nate Amos releases his music, which he plays himself with a bit of help from his dad and his sister, how cute.
He was in the playlist for the Best Kept Secret festival of 2025, and stood out, so I listened to previous album Box for Buddy, Box for Star a lot. Great tunes, great lyrics, a bit experimental at times. And it became even better with the MJ Lenderman version of Dancing in the Club, which I was thrilled to hear MJ play at last years show in Amsterdam.
The follow-up album is more coherent, with a strong county / americana feeling. Indie the way indie should be.
