I love the Bluenote label for 2 things: first, for all of the great jazz classics they released in the 50’s and 60’s and second for the fantastic artwork on their records. Many of these covers are collected in The Cover Art of Blue Note Records: The Collection, highly recommended.
Recently my daughter gifted me City Light by Lee Morgan for my birthday, the Tone Poet edition. I have a couple of Tone Poet releases and usually both sound quality and packaging are top-notch. In this case especially the tunes on side 1 are great, and they sound fantastic. Unfortunately the cover is a bit of a miss this time, it’s so dark you can hardly distinguish what’s shown. That’s also the major gripe on discogs. Oh well, you can’t have it all I guess.
