I’ve always been a fan of Interpol. And yes, I know that they will probably never reach the heights of their first two albums, but I kept buying their albums anyway, because I’m a sucker for their dark moods and Paul Banks’ deep baritone. It’s also one of the bands I’ve seen live the most, because you can never get enough “Slow Hands”.
Their latest album This Mirror Weighs a Ton brings in some new elements: more electronica, and the funky track Wake Up, which kicks off like a lost track of Talking Heads. But in the end, it’s all unmistakably Interpol, and that’s a good thing.
