After the slightly disappointing Wuthering Heights, Charli xcx now releases the real successor to Brat, with Music, Fashion, Film. She moves from the dance floor to a rock stage, which suits her equally fine. What stayed are the whitty, yet personal lyrics. What’s a major bummer on the vinyl version, is that on the final track No One Last Forever the spoken word part by David Cronenberg is missing. That part gives the song and entire album much more depth. Apparently this was added only very late in the process, when the vinyl pressing was already underway. The digital version of which links are below, does have the spoken word part.
